A Lifetime of Dedicated Service
Frederick hails from Summerville, South Carolina, and upon completing his high school education, promptly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, serving with distinction for four years. Not long after, he pursued a career in law enforcement, starting with the South Carolina Highway Patrol after graduating from the South Carolina Criminal Justice
Academy in 1989. His assignments took him from Orangeburg County to his home grounds in Dorchester County, evidence of his commitment to protecting and serving the local community.
In his illustrious 25-year tenure with the Highway Patrol, Frederick honed his expertise as a member of the elite S.W.A.T. team and the drug task force, eventually rising to the rank of corporal. His leadership skills shone brightly during his time at the South Carolina Highway Patrol, culminating in his role in establishing and overseeing the traffic division in the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Department. His efforts were instrumental in enhancing the safety and efficiency of county-wide traffic operations, leading to his appointment as Uniform Patrol Captain—a position he held with honor until 2021.
A-Pillar of the Community
Beyond his professional achievements, Frederick’s dedication to Dorchester County extends into every facet of his civic life. As a trustee and treasurer of the Central Missionary Baptist Church, he demonstrates stewardship and a commitment to faith-based service. His influence on the county’s youth is profound, having coached in the Sertoma Youth Football League, including a tenure as president, molding hundreds of young men with the principles of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
A Family Man with Local Values
In his personal life, Frederick stands as a pillar of stability and commitment. He resides in the county with his wife, Jeanette, a beloved cosmetologist and seasoned instructor at Trident Technical College. Together, they take pride in the accomplishments of their two children, Jillian and CT, who have both pursued higher education and built lives that reflect the values imparted by their parents.
The Embodiment of Excellence and Diversity
Frederick’s pursuit of excellence doesn’t conclude with his law enforcement career. As an entrepreneur, he has successfully operated a painting business since 1991, showcasing his proficiency in managing both personnel and complex projects. His well-rounded character is further manifested through his love for music, art, and martial arts, where he proudly holds a black belt and an instructor’s degree.
